Security & Fire Protection Contractors Package Insurance
Contractors operating in the Security and Fire Protection industries have specific insurance requirements requiring Public & Products Liability, including Inefficacy (failure to produce the desired effect) , Employers Liability, Professional Negligence (Design work) and various other related insurances.
Few Insurance Brokers specialise in these areas, but with PLB’s experience you can be sure you are in good hands.
Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, Security and Fire Protection Contractors & Consultants are facing significant challenges in securing the right cover for their needs, and at reasonable rates or even cover at all. This is due to a contraction in the Insurance Insurance Market, mainly bought on by re-insurers change in appetite.
Can I buy under a single policy for all liability covers?
The simple answer is YES – but in some instances, covers from differing Insurers may be the only option. Where possible, we recommend/prefer maintaining all covers under one policy and so ensuring that no single claim can full “between two stalls” – a case that sadly often occurs when utilising differing Insurers with one arguing against another as to who is liable – for instance, a fire system fails to go off – is that due to a design fault, incorrect installation, product failure or a varying mix of all leaving each participating Insurer to accept a proportion of blame.
We can cater for the following in most instances
- Intruder and fire alarms
- Portable and fixed fire extinguishers
- Sprinkler systems
- CCTV, access control and door entry systems
- Passive fire protection including intumescent products and spraying
- Emergency lighting
Why do PLB require an application form?
As Insurance Brokers, with access to over 150 Insurers and Lloyd’s Syndicates, each Insurer or Syndicate has its own appetite and each client its own specific requirements and needs. PLB’s experience ensures that from a wide range of competing Insurance Policies we can assist you in finding the most appropriate cover for your own circumstances and at the right price.
For specialist commercial insurances, online “portals” restrict quotations from a limited number of Insurers – some as little as 1 or 2 so it is important that you appoint an experienced Insurance Broker to act on your behalf obtaining the best deals available. As Insurance Brokers, we obtain any earnings from commissions made to us by the Insurer – so if we don’t get you the best deal, we will not receive either your instructions or payment – it is therefore incumbent upon us to ensure terms provided meet your demands and needs.
